…which will help your child discover the riches of reading!
R.I.C.H.
(Reading Is a Cool Habit) Reading is Sierra View's reading incentive
program sponsored by the Sierra View Elementary School PTA. The goal of
the program is to teach our children the joys and benefits of reading
by encouraging them to read more.
Through
ongoing incentives we encourage students to create the habit of setting
aside time on a daily/weekly basis for reading. In grades K-3,
students will be rewarded for every 200 minutes read. In addition to
the incremental rewards, students that reach the final goal of 3,000
minutes will be rewarded with a pizza party at the end of the year.
It's
easy for your child to participate in the R.I.C.H. reading program.
Students simply record the number of minutes spent reading on the
reading log provided by their teacher (additional log sheets will be
available in all classrooms). Each time a student reads 200 minutes
they will earn a reward!
Encourage your child to participate in this valuable program and watch them discover a treasure in every book!
