 Kimberly Rodgers, Principal

I feel truly blessed to have had such a rewarding career in education. I am incredibly fortunate to be working at a school that has a proven record of academic success and reputation for having an exceptional group of students, families, and staff members. As an Academic Plus School, my goal is to provide the support needed to continue to challenge children intellectually and socially while guiding them toward independent thinking and problem-solving. Encouraging students to demonstrate their individual best every moment of every day is a top priority.

It is important to me that my parents and guardians feel their children are in good hands while at school under my leadership. With that in mind, I’d like to share a little that has lead me to where I am today. A family of educators raised me in Redding, California. Having grown up in that environment, I chose to pursue a career in education. I graduated from CSU, Chico with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies and later went back to school and obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Management through the University of Lavern. I have been fortunate to experience thirty successful years in education, all of which took place in the local area — seventeen rewarding years teaching at the elementary level and thirteen years in administration. The past eleven years, I have been the principal at Emma Wilson Elementary School in the Chico Unified School District.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and seven beautiful grandchildren. Fishing, camping and spending time on the Oregon Coast are among the many things we like to do together.
