R.I.C.H. READING
Help your child discover the riches of reading! R.I.C.H. (Reading Is a Cool Habit) Reading is Sierra View's reading incentive program sponsored by the Sierra View Elementary School PTA. The goal of the program is to teach our children the joys and benefits of reading by encouraging them to read more.
Through ongoing incentives we encourage students to create the habit of setting aside time on a daily/weekly basis for reading. In grades K-3, students will be rewarded for every 200 minutes read. In addition to the incremental rewards, students who reach the final goal of 3,000 minutes will be rewarded with a pizza party at the end of the year.
To participate in the R.I.C.H Reading Program, students simply record the number of minutes spent reading on the logs provided by their teachers. Students can earn rewards for each 200 minutes spent reading!
Encourage your children to participate in this valuable program and watch them discover a treasure in every book!
